"Breakfast at Tiffany's"

"Let's have Chocolate for Breakfast"!
There are no rules when you are with your Sweetheart... Swiss Chocolate makes a sensational appetizer...
Do you see that "Chocolate Bread"??? It is packed with deep dark chunks of luscious Swiss Chocolate...Only the Best for my Honey Bun!!!
My taste buds are guessing here that the recipe is close to a pumpernickel(maybe) with just the right amount of cocoa added AND of course large very dark chocolate chunks... Does anyone have a recipe for this??? "Joni or Jackie I'm counting on you"???
"There will be Lots of Chocolat Kisses Today"...
Did you know that Valentine's Day is when our avian friends take their Sweethearts??? As I look outside on this Cold & Frosty Day I can see the birds of the air swirling in Loves Splendor...
The center of my table holds something very dear to me. Do you see the "Stone Tile" the Love Birds are resting upon??? I carried a half a dozen or so back from France when Hubby and I were visiting, A Very Long Time ago! These TILES were from the demolition and remodel of the most Beautiful French Chateau... I didn't know what I would do with them BUT "I had to have some"...I would have brought more if I wasn't getting the SAME Looks as Lucy did when she collected Boulders in "The Long Long Trailer"(one of my VERY FAVORITE movies, You can see "THE LOOK" here plus Lucy's bonus book review http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lyS9FYUcXc&feature=related)... Hubby made lots of statements to me like, "I MAY have to go home by a slow ship"...AND... "I'm not carrying your bags"... "Oh My Goodness, is he Romantic or What"???
Oh How I LOVE this Movie! This sheet music is "Mine,Mine,Mine" and I've played it and sung it "So Many Times I don't need the sheet music at all"!!! Here's the link to a little tease from the movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7SI7N22k_A
"I Really Liked this book"... The day it was released I bought it...Oh Did I have a hard time getting home to start it. It was one of those reads that was "Delicious"... Was it perfect??? "No"... All I'll say is that I'm an old fashioned girl that really likes to read "Between the Lines" and this is "All Spelled Out"... And I believe Mr Capella drifted a few times... Do I recommend you read it??? "ABSOLUTELY"!!! Just LOOK at that cover!!! It is quite an adventure that will "Take You Away"...
Add caption
The coffee I'm serving this morning is "Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Blend"... I watched the process of the raw beans being roasted to create this delicious brew... "Did you ever see a raw coffee bean"??? We have a Dairy Store here that started as only a tent on a lot and NOW it's in the book of world records for being the worlds largest dairy store... If you ever come to Connecticut you will need to visit "Stew Leonard's"!!!
I collected a pair of these generous mugs about a decade ago... I still tingle when I look at them... Aren't they Sweet?

Belgique is a lovely little shop located in a trim Victorian carriage house with a small parking lot and a cobblestone walkway. Its masterworks are grand cakes and tarts that are objets d’art as well as elaborate centerpieces of white and dark chocolate in the shape of birds, carriages, and castles. But you don’t have to be planning a wedding or deluxe party to partake of Belgique’s high-butterfat goodness. Its shelves are stocked with imported chocolates sold by the piece or pound as well as mouth-watering pralines that are made on premises.

The inventory of sweets includes truffles, small fruit tarts, and cookies – each lovely to look at, deliriously good to eat. Also on the menu for slaking the thirst inevitably generated by too much chocolate eating are bottles of mineral water and sparkling water … as well as real hot chocolate to drink. Our personal favorite item to take home is the dark bitter chocolate ganache cake with almond sponge, accompanied by a pint of vanilla-bean flavored crème Anglaise.

If you have a sweet tooth, with a particular predilection for chocolate, a visit to Belgique is a satisfying taste of heaven... A roadfood.com review...
This is to accompany my Chocolat Bread...
"We are Now Drifting off to Paris"... where a birds eye view from the Eiffel Tower will bring on an appetite for a special Paris Dining Treat...

Auberge Le Dauphin

Calm and intimate: those are probably the words that best describe this beautiful Norman house, at the heart of the Pays d’Auge. Didn’t Queen Elisabeth herself have lunch there in 1987 ?
Régis Lecomte, back home after several years working in some big restaurants in Paris, has chosen truly country-like surroundings, combining them with the looks of a traditional Norman half-timbered house.
"I wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day"!!! However you celebrate is not as important as the feeling the day brings... Take a moment to remember all the people,  furry/feathered friends & things, that have touched your heart now, in the past, and forever more... "Hugs & Kisses" To you All!!!

Hi Donna, You are so funny about those tiles! Do you remember the show where Lucy brings home the cheese on the plane? Maybe we should meet in Stews! I didn't know the history, although I have been in there so many times. ANd when we go to Belgique (we just got one on elm St. in New Canaan) I would like milk with my chocolate (dark). I'll be watching my birdies tomorrow to see them find their true loves. Linda

Donna, I *love* this post. The chocolate bread looks so delicious. I love the oranges, browns, and creams you have used for your gorgeous table. Your little birds are so pretty, and your little heart cups are adorable! I would be in so much trouble if I lived near a bakery like Belgique!

Happy Valentine's Day! BTW I love Breakfast at Tiffany's. Truman Capote was a friend of my uncle's, and he used to dine at my aunt and uncle's home. My mom has a signed first edition of In Cold Blood.

Hi Donna,
Well, my friend, you have outdone yourself with this delectable tea post! I love the lovebirds; adorable! The tile from France is beautiful! I would have most definitely brought home one or two myself! My youngest is going to France in June for a Math conference and he KNOWS he has to bring me back something from that most romantic city! I collect rocks so most likely a pebble or rock of sorts will be among the treasures! The chocolate bread sounds divine and I do adore those darling mugs with the kisses and hugs on them; perfect for this holiday! I love chocolate and your jar of chocolate is so appealing to this chocoholic! Thanks for sharing and for joining me for tea today. A lovely Valentines Day is wished for you and your hubby!

Well dear friend, I sooo enjoyed all of the pretties that you displayed on your beautiful table! The "XOXO" cups...sooo pretty! I love those! They really were so perfect for a Valentine's breakfast! Loved the pretty love birds that you used of the centerpiece! Girl, I can just see you picking up those french chateau's tiles and packing them in your suitcase! So cute! Sounds exactly like something I would have done as well! Hehe! Thank you for sharing your beautiful Valentine table and wonderful photos with us! I'm so glad I saw your photo on Marty's blog today...I'm dragging my heels around blogland lately and I missed this post. This is such a beautiful post.
