Washing Away the Pain

We last saw Chuck and Dark Star
Here, at Undead in the Netherworld
or
Here, at The Living Dead

Chuck and Dark Star walked hand in hand on the shores of the Bay of Octavia. It was a temperate day, and the gentle waves from the Twilight Sea lapped around their feet. There were only perhaps a dozen other people on the beach.
Sea gulls examined the shore for possible tidbits. Chuck put his arm around Dark Star, pulling her to him.
“I always kind of hated the end of summer before,” he said. “But I ain’t ever gonna see anything the same again after today. Everything’s changed, and I’m glad for all of it, even the bad parts.”
