Welcome Dear Readers! It’s time for Friday Fictioneers! Which means it’s time to pack up our knapsacks with 100 words of our own choosing, hike up to the top of our imaginations and jump off!
Here’s this week’s creatively-inspirational picture brought to us via our Friday Fictioneer Hostess, Rochelle Wisoff-Fields at her blog, Addicted to Purple. Today’s picture was lent to us by Rich Voza over at Brainsnorts.com
If It’s Not One Thing It’s Another
Melissa! The blue one! Get it! If any fall, we’re fired.
We should quit, Roger.
But working at Doors-into-Nowhere-Land is just — ack! the yellow one —a stepping stone to getting better jobs at Disneyland, Melissa!
But–
But what Melissa? Hold that thought –the red one!
Couldn’t we just visit Disney– Roger! The yellow one! –land?
You mean just visit Disneyland for– oh that stupid blue one! –fun?
Yes! Let’s go tomorrow. The red one, Roger! It’s our day off!
Hey! Good–yikes the yellow one!–idea!
Oh Roger! I love—lookout for the blue one—you!
* * *
Until next time . . . I love you
What if keeping that job merely gets them a position at Great America working Smurfland?
Jackie! This is a humor story not a horror story! 😀
Snappy and witty! Very good.
Thanks Draliman! So glad you liked it!
Oh this is funny
Oh Al now I’m Al choked up! (I think you may have to change your name because I just don’t seem to be able to controll myself!)
Haha Al have to think about that
Dear Linda, (shirt freshly pressed, I love Linda now in sequined blue) like the blue door I have looked between the lines of this post and concluded you have in fact, very cleverly, constructed a metaphorical discussion on the relationships that exist between couples in day to day life. And here I as thinking you only wrote comedy. I think another line of sequins is called for.
Yay ! I’m so glad you saw it that way, Summers! It gives me a really good excuse to go shopping for some sequined t-shirts! And maybe some jewel-studded jeans to go with them. What do you think? Too much?
Can there be anything too much for your fan club Linda. Why not go the studded jacket and the sequined tie, matching I LOVE LINDA underwear, the world is your oyster Linda, you’ll rack in the dollars
Dear Linda,
From now on I’m going to be very careful of falling doors. Sounds like a treacherous job. Love a happy, if not precarious, ending.
shalom,
Rochelle
Haha! It’s one of those jobs you really have to knock knock yourself out for! I just hope the pay is decent.
Someone should tell them if they built a house around those doors they might get a raise 😉 Enough for Disney WORLD perhaps.
Hilarious as always Linda
Ah thanks, Carrie! Really! They really should have tried to use a more permanent solution but maybe they were worried about job security! 🙂
Very amusing! Like the way your worked the internal dialogue as well the dynamic conversation.
Oh thank you! It was an interesting exercise in punctuation, that’s for sure!
Punctuation and dialogue can make or break a post… 🙂
Very original take on the prompt Linda, well done. That’s the second story where the door I thought was white has been portrayed as yellow… off to get my eyes tested. 🙂
Dear LVH,
I worked there one day for a year. Nice story.
Aloha,
Doug
Haha! Too funny! Sometimes I feel like my job involves keeping doors from falling over all day, but I guess that’s the way with tech support.
Oh I bet there’s a lot of that in tech support. And raising kids too! 😀
Silly! Lol
It is. The punctuation was the difficult part on this one.
lol 🙂 i love how you handled the dialogue. seamless.
Ah Thanks kz, you always leave the nicest comments!
I really laughed out loud on this one! Doors-Into-Nowhere … priceless.
Very good situation for Lucy, too, yes? Fun!
Oh Kent! Gosh I’m glad to hear that. And yes I can really see Lucy coming up with the a door into nowhere scheme! HA! 😀
