Last week, I showed you what happens when a hot water heater goes BAD!
Well, after the demolition and dry out, it was time for the...
Construction Crew
They began by taking out tile in the bathroom...
(that was still wet underneath)
(that was still wet underneath)
And the noise.
Removing tile is loud!
They really did a neat job. You would never know that tile had even been there!
Anyway, they got that finished and moved on to scraping the ceilings...
Now, you wanna talk dirty job...this was it!
We were all coughing by the end of the day!
The 'elephant' in the room was all of this wallpaper!
When the wallpaper was put up, two boys shared these rooms and it really worked.
We've made do with it, even with a boy and girl, but it was definitely time for a change.
But, taking it down...hmmmm...now that's not gonna be easy!
So, we got busy (yes, I did help) with gel wallpaper remover and hot water and soap and...
MAN POWER!
It took two days.
But we got it!
The sheetrock man came and put on the first layer of 'mud' and
things started looking
much
much better!
All the sanding was finished last week and now the rooms are ready for
Trim & Paint.
I'm joining Susan for Metamorphosis Monday!
Until next week!

What made you want to take down the striped wallpaper :) Good look with the reno. I am sure it will be worth all of the angst.
