Flowergirl birthday card

How cute is this little flower girl?! She has a starring role on my latest card, which I made today for a friend’s daughter who is turning seven tomorrow.

The digi was a freebie from Whimsie Doodle – well worth a look for cute images! The image was cut and printed using the Silhouette, coloured with Pro-Markers and then accessorised with Crystal Stickles.

For the banner, I again used my Silhouette Portrait – the letters were welded and cut, originally from white cardstock, however I ended up popping a little Tea Green Pro-Marker over them to help the words stand out. The backgrounds on the banner and card are from the Forever Friends “Party Time” pack. I was pleased that the two background papers complemented the image colours as that made the card eligible to enter the current challenge on Penny’s Paper Crafty Challenge blog, where you must use at least two patterned papers!

I combined my favourites colours, blue and aqua with a white stripe in the centre to help it feel crisp. It was a welcome change from the millions of pink cards I seem to make for little girls!!
