I was asked to do a tutorial on how to make my thumbtacks after someone saw my Inspiration Board Tutorial.
So, here we go….
What did I use, let’s see…
Here we go….
Place marble on wrong side of material and trace it out
Cut it out {doesn’t have to be perfect}
Use a popsicle stick or something to lather the Mod Podge on
the back of the marble.
{again, doesn’t have to be perfect}
Smooth the RIGHT side of the fabric on the back of marble with your fingers
It might look a bit cloudy, but don’t fret
When it’s dry, it’ll will disappear and look just fine.
Let the Mod Podge dry.
I let it dry for about an hour just because I wanted to finish the tutorial.
But… you could do a whole bunch one evening and let dry over night.
{or earlier during the day}
You’ll figure it out. 🙂
Just simply make sure the Mod Podge is mostly dry
before you go on to the next step
Carrying on….
Put a dollop of E-6000 on the back
Simply put the tack on the back
and let it dry.
So, I used Mod Podge for this tutorial to adhere the fabric to the marble … but … I have used E-6000 to adhere the fabric to the marble in the past and it works just fine, too. It might be a bit stickier though. But what I’m saying is that if you only have E-6000, and you REALLY want to make these TODAY, you don’t have to run out and buy Mod Podge to do this {no offense Mod Podge, still love ya!}.
Also, if you have a bunch of scrapbook paper that you want to use, you can use that instead of the fabric.
Hope you enjoyed this tutorial!! If there’s anything that you would like to see as a tutorial, please leave comment or contact me and I’d be happy to see what I can do … I’m always up for challenges {most challenges}.
