Stealing Christmas – Friday Fictioneers – 30th August

Where can you find the excitement of an unopened present short of your birthday or Christmas? Not many places unless you have someone in your life whose flair is for gift giving. Otherwise you must wait for the time of the year when gift-giving is the norm. Unless, of course, you count yourself among the hearty crew of Friday Fictioneers who step up for their weekly surprise from our  hostess, Rochelle, who picks one of her collection of unique photos each week. It has become one of my favorite weekly activities. The photo nod goes to Dawn M, Miller this time around.

Fiction – 100 words

“You were slower that time mate!” Hugo growled.

“I ran full speed!”

“It’s not the ground you cover, it is the amount of stuff your grab when you smash the glass. We got only half the stuff that was there.”

“It’s still several thousand pounds worth!” Barry protested.

“Did you get the big one,” Hugo said sifting through Barry’s bag of jewels.

“Yes. I made sure to grab it.”

“Then it’s not a total loss.”

“Bouviers will not have a great holiday season this year,” Barry said as he smiled.

“What’s flashing?”

“Flashing?” Barry replied.

“It’s a tracker!”

“Bloody hell!”

I want to share another opportunity for those of you who love writing flash fiction. Red Dyer and Redmund Productions offer a quarterly publication that gathers 250 flash fiction stories according to a specific theme and set of words during a thirteen week time period. Right now is the fall session and several words are already in play. There is still over a month to go with this, so hop on over and try your hand: http://mommasmoneymatters.com/flash-fiction/

  1. vbholmes says:

If they’re going to stay in the thieving business, they’ll have to change their approach to quality over quantity.

  2. In all the excitement, it’s best to see exactly what you have with you. 🙂

  3. I guess that brains really beats muscles sometime… Can I hear the sirens wailing… and why all the blue lights?

So you took time to read what I wrote and I appreciate it, but comments are even better!
