Special Cards...

I love receiving handwritten notes and cards...I think they are truly special.

With that in mind, I decided to send a few to make others feel special too.

One was for a wedding...
I took the original invitation and tweaked it a bit and turned it into my wedding card back to them.
Here's the before:

 And here is the after:

Using blank note cards/envelopes as the base, the sky is really the limit.
I cut out their graphics and made them "pop" with a cut piece of mounting board glued underneath.
The yellow strips were also trimmed from their original invitation.

Adding one of my favorite verses, it's perfect for weddings.

The other cards were birthday greetings.
My sister-in-law loves all things nautical.
This one is for her.

I had nautical stickers, so those were a must.
Adding a bit of jute and ribbon, it was "smooth sailing!"
haha

My niece loves all things blooming.
This one is for her.

I wanted a bit of whimsy...she's young and very cute...
I thought the free-handed flowers would be a sweet touch.

My other niece is an aspiring actress.
 Stars are her personal theme.

It's fun to personalize cards for friends and family...
I'm hoping these cards make them feel very special too!

I'm joining Susan over at Between Naps on the Porch for her Metamorphosis Monday. Be sure to drop by for amazing transformations!

  2. I love cards...sending AND receiving!! Yours are stunning!!
The thing that caught my attention was the address on the wedding invite....St. Louis church is about 6 blocks from my house!!! I pass it at least 4 times a day on my way to and from work :^)
It has a beautiful organ in the balcony, which I have played on several different occasions!!
If you attended that wedding....I'm sad! You could have stayed with us and been "right there"!
    Blessings,
    J
