Keeping Luck Under Glass...

I have been hinting
at my new mantle / faux fireplace project
for a long time...

Well,  this is the weekend I am tying up loose ends...

It seemed so simple to put in a faux fireplace,
then temptation spoke to me...
"paint the walls" it whispered,
then "wouldn't white woodwork be nice?"
 temptation whispered again...

Projects always take on an energy of their own :-)

I realized
I haven't shared with you my New Years Mantle top decor...
better late than never :-)

For Christmas,  I gathered all my cloches and apothecary jars,
and left them empty on the mantle top,
just enjoying the layers of twinkling glass
softly lit by taper candles...

Then around New Years Eve
I began to tuck in objects of history, time and luck...

A heart on a silver tray took center stage...

because love is the center of everything...

A bit of history
an unknown very distant relative...

broken clocks seem drawn to me,
maybe they are my attempt at making time stand still...

a little horseshoe the quintessential symbol of luck...

a treasured Irish Belleek vase,
the Irish are known to be filled with luck...

Tonight I am joining
Saturday Nite Special at Funky Junk Interiors
and
The Gypsy Cornern for Three or More Tuesday

Update...
I finished my Faux Fireplace
if you would like to see here is the link...

Thanks for visiting today!

Hello Bella... oooh, I love all of your lucky cloches and apothecary jars!... what a beautiful display... I love the little shamrock, and also your Belleek...I always buy a new piece of Belleek every year on St. Patrick's Day on the QVC special that is everything from Ireland... Jack is Irish, so maybe some of his Irish luck will rub off on me (I am mostly French)...I love how everything you create has special meaning and holds precious memories... thanks for sharing... xoxo Julie Marie

Hi Bella
You've created a nice display on the mantle with your cloches and treasures beneath.
The addition of the candles really adds some sparkle to enhance the romantic ambience created.
