The day after the “glory” of God raising His Son from the dead.  

The sun is shining! Maybe spring is really here.  It rained yesterday.

It was a moving time at church yesterday. I felt tender gratitude for His tender mercy.  I looked to my left and to my right flanked by my 3 adult children and son-in-law and son’s dear girlfriend.  The love gals were downstairs in the youth department.

My husband was missing. He is still traveling. There is another week to go!  The 2 business things just worked out that way.  I miss him.

Our food was not traditional Easter fare. The spring asparagus was delicious, just steamed to perfection. Roasted spring potatoes  and Greek salad (recipe at end) were just as yummy. The rib eyes were grilled to perfection.  Topping it off, Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls with butter.  I think that is one of my granddaughters favorite food group!

We did not have desert.

The Egg Hunt took care of any chocolate or sweet cravings.

After naps, of course.  Hey, it’s a Sunday.

It rained but we still had an egg hunt.

One little Sweet Pea was focused with Dad helping. She had a bag full!

Another one was with her uncle. They seems to celebrate every egg, checked out the candy inside and had more than a few offerings!  I heard them shout “Yeah!” a few times.

After Robert and Jessica, his girlfriend, left we had left over roasted spring potatoes friend with eggs and little smokies. It was about 7. Then we played more games, specifically Gang of Four card game. I got to play this time. The weekend had a lot of game playing!  Fun and competitive but not intense. I got trounced soundly!  Will won every round and the game in a mere 3 rounds!

My late in the day gift from Love Bug was to clean up my room.  It had become the catch-all for laundry and extra stuff of the girls. They slept there over the weekend.  The bathroom was picked up and tidied too.  She had my jammies laid out with the heating pad on the ready.  I use it during the night if I have bad leg cramps.

My gift from my family was their presence and hugs!

Sweet!  A perfect end to a wonderful day.  Giving is a part of Easter.

He gave His life so we might have life.

Greek Salad for 12  (can refrigerate a day ahead)

5-6 med ripe tomatoes     2 large cucumbers        1 sm – med onion                                                             1 each orange, yellow, red sweet peppers      6 – 8 oz feta cheese                                                1 bottle Ken’s Greek Dressing or Wishbone freshly made Italian dressing                                      Black olives, croutons

Cut in cubes: 5 -6 med ripe tomatoes and 2 large cucumbers                                               Slice red, yellow and orange sweet peppers into one inch lengths    Slide 1/3 – 1/2 onion into thin rings. Add 1 container of feta cheese, crumbled. Pour evenly 1  bottle Ken’s Greek salad dressing or Wishbone Italian fresh mixed dressing.  Toss.  Cover and refrigerate several hours or one day before serving.  Black olives, croutons optional
