Friday Fictioneers is a group of bloggers from around the world who create a story in 100 words from a photo prompt posted by our host, Rochelle Wissoff-Fields each Wednesday. My post is found below the photo prompt, as always comments are most welcome. If you want to participate, click on the little blue frog and add the link to your story.
Andrea took a deep breath and released it with a sigh. She hadn’t slept that well in ages. Her stomach grumbled, causing her to giggle. Bacon and eggs, with French toast will soon fix you. She scratched a small irritation on her neck and headed for the kitchen.
“Whaaat?” Her heart hammered against her ribs. This was not their kitchen; not the kitchen their parents had renovated just before they’d disappeared. She spun around and found…nothing. The door she had come through had vanished. She was facing a blank wall.
“Simon?”
She screamed her brother’s name, “Simon!”

The Twilight Zone or a dream or is there a difference?
LOL yes, there is a difference in this case 🙂
Really creepy. Of course this will be a serial.
Thanks Bjorn. Yes, it seems like it’s going to be a serial.
Creepy stuff — and I liked how you added a dose of humor with the line about bacon, eggs, and French toast fixing her. A nice balance with the fear caused by the blank wall and her screaming her brother’s name.
Thanks Dave, yes, Andrea loves her food. And her favourite drink is a mock Mint Julep 🙂
Ahh, so intrigued! I would love to know more, as well.
Thanks Jacey, a writer loves to hear the words, “so intrigued” and even more so the words, “I would love to know more” LOL so this is a top comment 😉
There will be more, and if you’re interested, you can read more here: https://theencouragingscribe.wordpress.com/2013/03/24/write-now-prompt-22-march-2013/

Dear Lyn,
You leave us with lots of questions. An intro to a larger story perhaps?
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thanks Rochelle. Yes, it’s beginning to look like a much longer story…this is the third instalment, but it’s not necessarily in the right order 🙂
Scary!
and it will get scarier before the end 😉
Thank you for taking the time to read it.
Very twilightish. Nice job. I enjoyed reading.
Thanks Kim, I appreciate your comments and am glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Would love to know more…
Dee
Thanks Dee, it looks like becoming a serial. Who knows; maybe even a book 🙂
What a great idea! I’ll be following to see what happens.
Dee
Thanks Dee, I hope you won’t be disappointed 🙂
I like the corner sink…….. I think Andrea needs a cup of coffee before the bacon and eggs…. Take Care and God Bless 🙂 Kenny T
Tsk, tsk, Kenny, she’s only thirteen. And besides, her brother won’t let her drink coffee; only pretend Mint Juleps (https://theencouragingscribe.wordpress.com/2013/03/16/mint-juleps-and-little-green-men/ ) 🙂
That irritation, would that be where a needle had been inserted? Intriguing – well done.
Hmmm, could be Sandra, could be 😉
