"The Grandeur of Gold", Tinged with "The Romantic of Roses"...

I decided to just lounge this evening and have some quiet "Me Time"... Of course I sat with some of my Lovelies and played with some new dishes I picked up from TJMaxx... The plates are "Royal Stafford" in the "Pink Rose Garden Floral" design!  I didn't buy the dinner plates, I really would rather contrast and they didn't have the FULL Spectacular graphics that these little plates have SO, I came home with a pile of these!!! I "Would" LOVE to know what the coffee cup or mug looked like,  I have a feeling there IS NO coffee cup or mug to go with these Lovelies! Why do they do that??? The pink in this rose is a gorgeous, and true to my picture of it...
I am envisioning it will make a stunning garden party plate come summer! Look how beautifully it goes with my wooden table... Oh and by the way, "I'm waiting for my gingerbread to come out of the oven to SAMPLE IT"... We must make sure it's at it's best before we let the family have it! Oh, the sacrifices us women must make!!! It's a tough job but someone has to do it!!! "Mmmmm, can you smell it"???
Can you see the golden gate surrounding the Drop Dead Gorgeous David Austin Rose(I'm calling it an Austin Rose because they ARE my very favorite and it's MY DISH so I can call it whatever I want)!
These beautiful creamy white platters I have had "FOREVER" and they are from Italy... I Loved them SO much I bought a stack of them... They look SO pretty as chargers, although I have used them for everything from "Appetizers" to "Breakfast in Bed"!!! AND I'm not worried if I drop one on my ROCK HARD porcelain kitchen floor "Because" I have a whole stack of extras, hehe!!!
I tried a few different "Looks" for my new Grandeur of Gold Rose plates, and this is another beautiful look... It was amazing how easy this dish WAS to work with... Is it JUST ME, or is this another MUST HAVE for every china closet??? OK Ladies, Your neighborhood TJMaxx just MIGHT have some, if you REALLY want one or two, OR a stack like me!!! They were only $2.99( Shhhh, I would have paid a LOT MORE)!!! I must also mention that they are Made in England...
Under my dish I cushioned it with this Gorgeous antique German Plauen Lace...

I used this cake plate as my Charger... This is a "Fabulous Find from GW". Remember I told you I scored this week, WELL, this is another one of the treasures I bought for $2... It's a MINT Condition "Fostoria Crystal Etched, two handled, Cake Plate, in the Meadow Rose pattern".. .This pattern was introduced in 1936...

This pair of vases, I Loved as a child, and I now have the privilege of, them prancing around my dining tables... My Mom had them NOT in use, on a VERY high shelf , SO I went out on a limb and said, "Mom, can I have the Deer Vases"? I then closed my eyes and crossed my fingers... She didn't say a word, BUT she looked totally "in shock" at me, then turned around,  pulled a chair over to the shelf,  pulled them down, and handed them to me!!!
These vases bring a whole "life of memories" with them to my home, where we'll create new memories for the future... Mom was BEAMING as she gave them to me... I could tell she was just as excited to think I wanted them and she seemed honored as she passed them to me..."We both had the biggest smiles on our faces and in our hearts"... These vases still have their original tags on them from "TILSO  hand painted Japan"...
This is the Vintage German Tablecloth I used this evening... The German Village Scene is repeated around the whole cloth and it's stitched in gold thread... It is definitely "One of my Favorite Things"!

Donna...you have shared such lovelies with us! Firstly, that plate is exquisite. I love roses and am always drawn to pieces with them. My youngest daughter even has Rose as her middle name....I might have to check out TJM this week. Your platter used as charger is perfect and that Fostoria cake plate...at the GW?! You lucky thrifter. I love your deer vases. I also loved the exchange you shared between you and your Mom. Very sweet. Lastly, that tablecloth is gorgeous...I can see why it would be one of your favorite things :)

Merry CHRISTmas!

Donna, your table looks stunning. You are so blessed to have so many unusual things that make your tablescapes so lovely! What a score from TJ Maxx...the Drop Dead Gorgeous David Austin rose works for me! I think you are a lucky duck that your mom wanted to share the pretty deer vases with you. And the German table linens are too, too pretty. I hope you enjoyed all the prettiness and had a relaxing evening. Thanks again for sharing, Donna! :D

I love your table. It is worn so beautifully, and you can tell that it has been loved for a long time. My favorite kind of piece. Your new plates are just fabulous and I loe the white platter that you use as a charger. That is a wonderful find. The cake plate is a real score also, but the vases from your mom are such a precious heirloom. Can't ask for anything better than that. I hope you and all your family have a very Blessed Christmas. Hugs, Marty

Donna, these plates are exquisite, but then so is the entire table you have set to enjoy. I'll be happy to patiently wait here with your for a taste of that gingerbread. Your deer vases are truly special. I love to hear how family pieces are shared and passed down through the generations. Enjoy a beautiful day, sweet friend. ~ Sarah

Everything is so pretty. The vase story is so sweet. You are her only daughter, I guess! :) My mom had to divide between 4!
