One Foot in Spring....

The seasons here change very slowly...

the signs of spring are everywhere,
yet winter is still holding on tight...

I added  Pussy Willow branches
to my tablescape today...

one foot in spring...

yet a hearty soup
 is whats on the menu...

the other foot in winter...

this starter set
of Black Transferware
was an after Christmas purchase...

four wide bowls,
a single plate,
and a sugar bowl or maybe a biscuit jar,
this was debated at the cute shop where I bought them...

my love for the rosy pattern,
non-debatable...

when I set the table,
I had only planned for White Roses
and Pussy Willow...

but then,
 I added the Pink Roses,
something warm,
on this very grey day...

I certainly don't shy away
from pieces doing double duty...

but, do question it's original purpose,
a tad big for sugar,
a tad small for biscuits...

(I will choose biscuits today)

wishing you a cozy night...

tonight I am joining...
and

Thanks for stopping by...

Oh, I am swooning over the china you found Bella! What a treasure, and the table is simply elegant. Spring can't be too far behind, I'm rejoicing that March is here tomorrow!

Bella, your new transfer ware is absolutely stunning. This entire table is stunning. I like the touch of pussy willow. Sweet the way you used a sprig on the napkin. May I pin that photo?
Your sugar bowl would be perfect for those large raw sugar cubes. '-)

It's a sugar bowl in my opinion. I've seen a bunch of big ones. I wonder why they were so big? But yours is gorgeous! Looks really old, and the pattern is so pretty. The black is so unusual. I love what you did with the willow twigs. I asked at the florist for them, but they don't have them yet. I don't have a bush! Your table is gorgeous! Glad you gave us a look!

Hi Bella,
Beautiful photos! Your floral arrangement is gorgeous. Your so called sugar bowl could be a slop jar for a tea set, they would put their used tea leaves/ teabags in it after use. Maybe, maybe not...whatever it is, it's cute! Enjoy! Gina

Hi Bella!!

What a beautiful table!!

I love the flowers and the gorgeous set of china. The silverware is beautiful and the "sugar bowl", could really be used for anything. It's certainly beautiful!!

Using the Pussy Willow at each setting is a great idea. The throw over the chair goes great with the whole color scheme.

Your room looks so beautiful and bright.

Very lovely, Bella! The transferware is really beautiful and so unusual. It looks so pretty with your roses and pussy willow sprigs. Your settee in the background is lovely, too, with the ruffly pillow and gray throw. Have a wonderful weekend- hopefully we can get out for some gardening. xoxo

Oh my goodness gracious those soup bowls are so wonderful. I love the color and the pattern. We are one foot in winter and one in spring here too. One day it is 60 degrees, the next snow flurries. For some reason the little daffodils don't mind so very much, and just keep blooming.

I LOVE your new transferware Bella! What a gorgeous pattern. I also spied the pretty silverware too. I love it. I think the way you do a tablescape is my favorite of all I've seen. I love how you put different elements together to make it so inviting.
I wanted to tell you how much I love your new banner. So pretty!
Yes, I do think we love the same 'things'.
hugs,

That's such a beautiful tablescape, Bella, with touches of both seasons. I love your new bowls! (And the biscuit/sugar container..) Black transferware is so lovely and goes with everything. It's too early yet for Pussy Willows here in New England, but soon.

Beautifully done, Bella - we're having very, very strong winds today - but we have two 70 degree days in our near future. I am so looking forward to the official arrival of spring, the warmth of sun and the beauty of the flowers - your tablescape is perfectly set with one foot in winter and one foot in spring - I will be featuring your post in this week's Home and Garden Thursday party,
Kathy
