My dining room is still full of art, and I finally finished posting all of my salt and pepper shaker collection. Yep, that was all of them! Unless I purchase more in the future, of course; there is always a chance of that happening. Therefore, I am going back to my photo archives and posting an old tablescape. But before I do that, I had a little scare yesterday. I had just finished posting about salt, saving money, and Swamp People. I always go back and reread a few times after I post because it helps me find errors that I may not have caught otherwise. I couldn’t get the blog to come up! Well, I won’t go into the whole story of panic mode that set in, but it was nowhere to be found. I was able to find the WordPress support and was assured that they were working on it. I could not even focus on Swamp People as much as I normally would have (so you know it’s serious!) for worrying about losing all of the hard work that I have put into the blog.

We went to bed after last night’s Swamp People, and I had resigned myself to the fact that I had lost the blog. By the way, it was very touching to see how Glenn was dealing with Mitchell’s death. I was glad that the History Channel folks decided to show it.

Anyway, the first thing every morning I get on the computer and check email, news headlines, weather, and so forth. Without my blog, I noticed that my computer time had dropped drastically. Later in the morning, I went to the computer, and there was the blog! It ended up being “vanished” for not quite 24 hours. I still don’t know the reason for the disappearance, but as long as WordPress has it fixed, it doesn’t really matter. Thanks, WordPress, for recovering all of my hard work!

So on to the tablescape. I won’t repeat how I came to love and acquire The Friendly Village. This is one of the first tables that I ever did with this great pattern. These are also some of the first photos of tables that I ever took, so they are kind of dark.  I was trying to use as many pieces of The Friendly Village as I could. I used my black tray with black candle holder and wicker balls that you have seen in many of my casual tables. I found these at Wal Mart, and I really like the way these look (as you can tell, since I use them a lot!).

I used my taupe placemats and red square plates as a base. The brocade napkins from The Napkin Lady are among my favorites, and you have seen my Grosvenor silver often as well. I chose to use the dinner plate and soup bowl. I really like the way that the red plate emphasizes the reds in the pattern of The Friendly Village.

I also used the red salad plate, Friendly Village square salad, and Friendly Village berry bowl. I really like the square salads and think these look great together.

My Gail Pittman Flame pieces seemed the perfect color palette for this table. I also used my milk glass iced teas and amber goblets.
