That Summer
They say that memories last forever. I really hope that’s true.
When I was young I would spend every summer with my grandpa. We had the most amazing adventures. There is one day that stands out to me over all of the other ones.
My grandpa loved to build things with his hands. We had already built a treehouse and a fort, but that wasn’t enough for him. He wanted to build something extravagant. Something that we could have fun with.
That morning when we woke up, Grandpa and I emptied the shed and built the greatest car ever made.

My Grandfather Russell had a John Deere tractor that he let us ride around on in his home of Clinchport, VA. Everyone in the small village knew him and us. We had such great adventures with him. I know how excited this story teller was to have fun with Grandpa.
