This recipe is from More Than Mundane
I’ve been really wanting to get this oil at the store for a while now, until I figured well, oil can’t be that hard to make, right? So, I searched online and quickly I found this recipe, which turned out being really simple.
Oil of oregano is good for many things, but I mainly wanted to try it out for acne. It’s supposed to be good for any inflammation, so I heard you could put a little bit on your breakout areas and the inflammation will go down. We’ll see!
More Health Benefits of Oregano Oil
- Acts as an anti-viral agent — Oregano oil can aid in protecting us against the common cold.
- Powerful anti-inflammatory
- Can help relieve congestion
- Emmenagogue — Oregano oil can aid in healing irregular menstruation and reducing the negative effects of menopause.
- Anti-allergen — Oregano oils produce a sedating effect on the hyper-sensitivity of allergies, offering relief for allergic reactions.
- Potent anti-oxidant capacity — Through neutralizing free-radicals, oregano oil helps us slow the process of cellular deterioration, thus slowing the process of aging. Anti-oxidants aid in protecting us from cancer, eye-diseases, muscle degeneration, as well as many nervous-system disorders. Rosmarinic acid, a component of oil of oregano, is an antihistimine, and a more powerful antioxidant than vitamin E.
- Digestive aid — Stimulates the flow of bile in the digestive organs
- Possesses powerful anti-fungal properties — With regular use, oregano oil can help protect us against fungal infections.
You’ll only need two ingredients
What the oregano looks like after beating the heck out of it….This process help release some of the oil that the oregano already contains.
Heat olive oil on low heat until warm
Add the oil into the plastic bag
Add the oil and the oregano into a glass jar and store in a cool dark place for two weeks.
Once the two weeks is up, go ahead and strain out the oregano, and add the oil into a glass bottle.
I now have a new item to add to my beauty cabinet!

I believe some people swish it around in their mouth, but I think that is all.
My 5 year old son recently picked up the hand foot & mouth virus at school. Monday, he had a fever and sore throat. Later that night, we took him to Urgent care. He was in SO much pain in his throat, I noticed he had white blisters in the back of his throat. They couldn’t give us anything for it since it is a virus. I decided to take out my essential oils. I put some childrens tylenol in the little measuring thingy that it comes with. I added one drop of oregano, one drop of melaluca & one drop of lemon, all essential oils. Today, he was able to eat some yogurt and drink plenty of water. I have so much love for oregano! It’s good for so many things. I wish my son would let me vibe him the oregano every 3-4 hours. He’s 5 years old and it’s hard for me to get him to take this combo 2x’s per day. I am very happy with how quickly I’m seeing such a fast turn around. My neighbors kiddos lasted 6 weeks with this same virus. Oregano works wonders! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!
