Tea Under the Tinsel Tree...

Each year I put up all the Christmas decorations
the week after Thanksgiving...
In a frenzy
then sit back and enjoy them...

This year I find I have the desire to go slower
linger a bit
and enjoy the process...

(click photos to enlarge)

Today I am putting up my
silver tinsel tree
on the table in the parlor...

I love it's nod to formal Victorian style...

I will enjoying a bit of tea
while lingering
it seems a perfect combination...

and...
since I began making cookie dough this morning
a small plate of sugar cookies to nibble
is a perfect indulgence...

A sprig of cedar on the plate
perfumes the air...

Sparkly ornaments in silver with a few pops of green...

Have you tried Pandora Radio?
It is an Internet radio station...

You pick a favorite artist or genre
and it plays you a custom mix...

I have it programmed to Christmas Blues
and I love it!!

Every tree should have a bell!

Are you done decorating?
or lingering..

I am off to pour tea and decorate..
I'll share some photos of my finished tree
later in the week
if you would like to see :-)

Tonight I am joining these lovely party's...

Lady Katherine for Tea Time Tuesday
Wanda Lee for Tea for Two
Paperbutterfly for Teapots and Tea Things
and

Thanks for joining me for tea...

Dearest Bella,

Wish I had the luxury to linger... I'm still catching up and the Christmas decorating will be to a minimum this year. No big tree since we've lived in Indonesia. Just different decorations with more emotional value. But I certainly enjoy 'my trees' here on blog land!

Enjoy your tea + cookies and have a nice day again tomorrow!

Those pictures are beautiful. The sugar cookis with the silver dragees (?) look like they belong on the tree. I have done as much decorating as I believe I'm going to do, but I need to get some pictures taken so I can share.

I'm going to try that Pandora radio station, as soon as my Celtic Women Christmas cd is thru.

I think we NEED to take time, to linger, while we do those things we love. To do them is a rush, out of obligation, seems to sap so much joy out of the times we eagerly anticipate all year long. I , like you, am taking more time this year to take in and enjoy some of these occasions, like decorating and baking for Christmas.Thank-you.

Bella- What a darling post. I love your little tinsel tree. Where did you find the stand for it...or did it come with the stand? I absolutely adore it!

Everything looks absolutely beautiful!!!

I am running really late this year and am only about 1/4 way done. With working outside the home I just feel like I am so far behind that I wonder if I will ever catch up. Hugs- Diana

Hi Bella
Yes, I'm done since we get a jump on things here with a much earlier Thanksgiving.
I can see why you described my silver tinsel tree as fluffy - do show yours when it's decorated, I know it's going to be gorgeous.
Wish I could join you in person for tea, the cookies are pretty and so is your table.

Such a sweet post, Bella. I love the tinsel tree and your cookie look SO good!

I wish I could say I am lingering when it comes to decorating, but actually, I am avoiding it. I don't really care to carry all the boxes up myself!! lol!

Happy decorating. Looking forward to seeing your tree!

XO,
Jane

Hi Bella,
Love your gorgeous tinsel tree; I wish I had taken time to linger when I did mine! I usually do, but this year I have much to do in readiness for our party next week.
