“No…You can’ t do this!”
She was not herself anymore. His gentle model, his muse with that shy smile had burst in rage.
“How could you…it’ s your face, YOURS! After putting up with your model’s “accidental” touches behind me…and now THIS!”
He thought she would be happy. He thought she would finally see…
“You can’ t bring it there tomorrow!”
“But it’ s my central piece…” he started, hoping she would understand…
“NO!”
Her eyes, always so warm, were like ice picks, relentless.
“But why…”
“Curator of your exhibition – my husband! How for goodness sake will I explain THIS?!”

    1. 🙂 Your comment brought a smile to my face, Björn. Yes, it’ s quite a bit but you know what they say….the more we do, the more we actually are able to do. As long as it’s not an exaggeration I guess 🙂

  1. I used this line once, but feel it still applies in the situation “LUCY! You have some ‘splainin’ to do!” Maybe she can hide her husband’s spectacles or convince him to call in sick! The conniving chiseler is trying to immortalize what he cannot have in real life.

  2. Welcome to the gang! 100 words is certainly a challenge but I like how you fit a story in here and I hope you’ll stick with us. I’m a compulsive critiquer (just let me know if you’d rather I reign myself in though!) so my suggestion for you is that I sometimes found it hard to know who was talking without doing a bit of mental calcuation. Obviously attribution uses words, but I think it’s worth it for the sake of clarity.
Looking forward to reading more from you in the coming weeks.

    1. Thank you! It was my pleasure to try to participate and to challenge myself this way. And curiosity…about what happens when one stares at a photo for quite a while. 😀
Your opinion is appreciated – I believe what doesn’ t kill us, makes us stronger 😉 I do understand what you mean by being being lost between the persons talking and will keep that in mind for the next time.
