O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum! Your boughs can teach a lesson... That constant faith and hope sublime... Lend strength and comfort through all time... O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum... Your boughs can teach a lesson...
This room has 18 windows All around (it is a bit of an atrium that is open into my kitchen), the Christmas tree reflects in Every window and gives the feel of a Christmas Tree Forest... The floor in here is ROCK HARD Porcelain 24" squares. These tiles are also flowing through my kitchen, AND beware of dropping anything(I bet a PAN would break) because it will explode into ash... I mean this literally because "I've done this TOO many times". I have the most incredible hand blown ornament collection for my tree BUT after loosing a dozen or so on the floor I chose to only put none breakable trinkets on this tree... I do have one acceptance, I have about 1000 crystal icicles adorning it AND those I will not give up. It takes "FOREVER" to place them AND I have lost many along the season, BUT I "Cry and move on", hehe... They are not sentimental like my ornaments |

Oh, Donna, this is a magical post! You home is enchanting, but in its snowy winter wonderland, it looks like something straight out of a storybook. ~ Sarah
Your cottage is delightful. Looks like it is out of a storybook, very pretty!

Your home looks like it is right out of a fairytale, Donna.
Yes, I have had sugar on snow, as we Vermonters call it, more times than I can count...hope that Vermont has a snowy Christmas so I can have some this year!
Your home is so enchanting and all the more enchanting blanketed in snow. Just lovely.
Do hope you're joining us for Seasonal Sundays.

Those pictures are beyond beautiful. The snow is fantastic and your home is gorgeous.
I live in Tennessee where we get very very little snow. I would love to have a white Christmas. I would love to just have a big snow more than once every few years. Enjoy and stay warm.
Brrr! So pretty ... looks like a postcard.
I so love all the photos of the snow. I love your entry door, have since the day you showed it first. I love your tree and the big Santa is truly amazing.
oh please tell us more about your darling cottage!!! Did you design it, it is charming! I lived in Ireland and the UK for 5 years and your home would most surely fit in there.
Your home is gorgeous!!
We have snow at Christmastime, but it usually is light snow. January and Feb are snowy months here, although, we've heard snowy Dec. and dry Jan and Feb, this winter. In Missouri, the weather always keeps us guessing!:-)
Hello Donna,
Nice to meet you.I cannot believe you live in such pretty, dream cottage. How lovely it looks under snow. Wonderful.

You have a most charming home. Just magical. I am your newest follower. Please stop over and visit when you have time. My home old cape home has the steep pitched roof, as well with old slate shingles. I know what you mean when the snow slides off!
Love snow pictures! Homes and gardens seem more magical. Can't wait to see what you do to that door.
OMG I really love your home!
The door is amazing! A storybook cottage indeed.
And your doll collection is like magical!
Thanks for sharing this wonderful tour!

I am so glad you photographed the cottage in all of the snow, it is just magical. Perfect roofline, sorry Santa!! Your site for the Christmas tree is outstanding, with windows on two sides. I love all of the wood and stone and the flooring too. Just a beautiful tree and a beautiful setting. What a warm Christmas feeling it exudes. Have a wonderful Sunday.
Your cottage is delightful, and I can only imagine entering through your beautiful entry door! Living in New York, I do love the photos of the snow ;o) I am going to take a peek around your blog...you probably have a post on the age of your home. I have always love that style home.

What a lovely storybook cottage. So cute and your tree is stunning.
Hello Donna!
Yes you really do live in a Fairy Tale Cottage...it's absolutely gorgeous. I LOVE your favorite room...I can just imagine sitting having breakfast there looking out into the beautiful back yard. Perfection. I once lived in a home similar to yours right across from the ski hill in a little British Columbia Ski Village. It lacked the lovely details that you have in your doorways shutters etc...yes this is definitely my 'dream cottage'. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us. I think I'll be going to sleep dreaming about yours tonight ;) Have a wonderful week!
Maura :)
What beautiful pictures! Your home is so special to me as it reminds me of the Comstock homes in Carmel By The Sea. What a treat it is to see some of the inside as well as outside. Your tree is lovely.
Thanks for sharing,
Barb
Your photos with the snow are just exquisite! You have a lovely home inside and out. Your tree is very pretty too.

Donna: You have the most beautiful home I have ever seen. It is right out of a magazine. It is amazing and that tree, wow! Thank you for sharing the view of your home. I love it. Have a wonderful week. Blessings, Martha
Dear Donna,
I am breathless when I see your house. It looks like a fairy tale with all the snow outside and the glittering tree inside. We have so much in common, those icicles are my favorites on my tree. I will show that later. We had once a very white tree, just as if snow had fallen in the hall. But the family didn't love that so much as I did. Your home is really outstanding nice. I love it.
Greetings, Johanna
Fabulous Post Donna! I love everything! Where did you find the crystal icicles for your tree?
warm hugs, Laura
Now this is Christmas!!!!!LOVE!!!!!!Kathy
Your home is gorgeous, it looks like wonderful Christmas card. Your tree is breathtaking, and the way it sparkles in the windows is so pretty. The sleigh with Santa and the Dolls is just perfect. So pretty. Hugs, Marty
Oh Donna, Your house looks lovely framed by the snow~ and your pretty Christmas tree shines like the stars! I know what you mean about porcelain tile- I shatter things often. And those shards are sharp and dangerous! Sorry for my lack of visits lately; life has just gotten in the way and it is all I can do to decorate my house a little at a time. I have cut back for this season, too. -I have way too much stuff and not enough time! I'll be back as I can; until then I hope you are enjoying the Christmas season! ~ Sue
Oh, Donna! Your home is just gorgeous--dreamy! I love mine, but I'd trade you in a heartbeat!
Beautiful decorating, too...and oh, the snow! Thanks for sharing your lovely photos..,
Hope your Monday is just wonderful!

I thought we'd had a lot of snow for this time of the year - but you certainly have taken the biscuit! Pretty photos, I love your tree!

Hi Donna,
Well, it does LOOK pretty! I am not a lover of snow, unless I have no where to go. Last year, we had way too much of it!
Your Christmas decorations are just beautiful!
I can only say what everyone else has said.
Your home is magical and lovely.
It is like a story book!
Enjoyed visiting,

Your home is amazing. I love the steep roofline. Thanks for sharing.
Donna, your home is just my favorite style. English Tudor with a fairytale quality! Amazing is the only word for your tree and the way the lights reflect, just so magical. Thanks so much for joining the party!
hugs,
Debra
Donna - every time I visit your beautiful blog, I find myself just staring at the photos of your incredibly dreamy home. It looks like something out of a fairytale or storybook or dream! I almost expect Snow White to come walking around the corner of the house followed by the 7 dwarfs! :) It is such a unique house. Has it ever been featured in a mag or book? It should be! The pic of your tree is just amazing with all that reflection! Sooooo very beautiful! :)
xoxo laurie
Oh my goodness, Donna, you have the most wonderful home. I mean it. I am totally in love with your house and your yard and all that wonderful Connecticut snow. Oh my goodness. It's like the home you dream about at night and wake up wishing you could live there and hoping when you fall back asleep you'll be there again. Just absolutely, fantastically beautiful and dream like. And the wonderful sights you see from your room with the view. Which is just so beautifully decorated for Christmas. Will you hang all your hand blown ornaments on another tree this year?
Oh wow... I just love what you've done with your side entrance. It's just too sweet. Can't wait to see what you do next!
I hope you have yourself a fabulous evening,
Susan @ CluckleBees

Thanks for visiting my blog! You have a gorgeous, charming cottage. What a work of art! these custom creations must take many many months. i can't wait to see pictures of your gardens in the spring and summer. Donna, your home is to DIE for! I too live in New England and am craving the snow and waiting for some before I snap any new photos this year. So I think I will have to grab one from last year like you did since the whole country got this snow storm yesterday except for us of course, again, we got rain ;( Can you share with us how you got the 'falling snow' to happen to make your pictures come to life? That is SO COOL and may put me in the spirit enough to do some more holiday decorating this week. I enjoyed your blog and am going to follow you. Maybe you can stop by my blog sometime too ;)
Michelle

I was born and raised in CT, but have lived the last 30 years away. I am very glad I live in SC but it is supposed to be 14 here tomorrow---and our homes down here are really not built for cold temps....at least not here on the coast!
Your house is incredible! You must feel as though you live in a fairy tale!
Best,
Susan
